360° feedback, also known as multi level or multi source feedback is a process of gathering information about the 'participant' from a variety of useful sources (the 'respondents'). It is a process whereby an individual is rated on his/her performance by those who are familiar with his/her work. The respondents include peers, direct reports, customers, managers and other stakeholders. Initially, the individual participant undertakes a self-assessment which presents an opportunity to reflect upon his/her own performance. This self-assessment is then enhanced with responses from selected stakeholders providing a richer picture of individual performance.
